Date: 8 Jul 2005 21:51:12 -0000 From: Ozzfest.com Subject: One week until Ozzfest 2005 kicks off! ONE WEEK UNTIL OZZFEST 2005 KICKS OFF! There's no turning back now. The trucks are on the road, guitars are being tuned, t-shirts are being boxed and the beast is preparing to raise its ugly head. People, OZZFEST 2005 is clearly upon us! We are one week away from OZZFEST 2005's kickoff in Mansfield, MA on Saturday July 15th. Set times for the shows will soon be posted here: http://www.ozzfest.com/tourdates.html. As most of the bands on the Second Stage rotate, we will post each day's set times a few days before each show, so check back often if your show's times are not yet listed. They will be soon. Here's the latest news re OZZFEST's biggest bands: - BLACK SABBATH's playing critically acclaimed, sold out shows across the UK and Europe as a part of their world tour. In a recent five-"K" live review, Kerrang! (UK) praised the band's performance, saying they "Defy age and cynicism by playing the set of their lives. The sound is immaculate, as Tony Iommi's crushing riffs sweep across the site and Bill Ward's brutal drumming hammers each doom-laden chord home. Ozzy Osbourne looks genuinely ecstatic and fired-up too, perhaps mindful that a point is being made about why we loved him in the first place. A grinding, malevolent 'Black Sabbath' and an immense 'Children Of The Grave' are the highlights, but there isn't a second that doesn't roar this band's supremacy from the rooftops. Magnificent." - IRON MAIDEN is also a fine-tuned touring machine after headlining massive concerts and festivals overseas including the band's recent sold-out concert in Gothenburg, Sweden which drew the 51,000 fans. Maiden also performed for 110,000 at Germany's Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals. - VELVET REVOLVER--who will take the stage right before BLACK SABBATH on the final seven OZZFEST dates--joined some of the world's most popular artists to perform at the historical LIVE 8 event. The band's blistering set took place in Hyde Park in London. - ROB ZOMBIE is preparing for the release of his new film 'The Devil's Rejects,' which arrives in theatres July 22. The Lions Gate Film marks ZOMBIE's follow-up to his 2003 debut 'The Devil's Rejects.' ZOMBIE recently told Rolling Stone that his next album should be completed this fall. Guest musicians include: drummer Tommy Lee (Mötley Crüe) guitarist Wes Borland (LIMP BIZKIT) and drummer Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle). - MUDVAYNE's latest album 'Lost and Found'~Wwhich debuted at #2 on Billboard's Top 200--has been certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies. - MASTODON was recently profiled on the FUSE Network with the 30-minute 'Uranium: Mastodon' primetime TV special. 'Uranium: Mastodon' documents the Atlanta quartet's rise from one of underground music's most talked about names to one of the leading heavy music acts in the world.
